P.S.I Love You review 5 Stars

I've waited a couple years to watch this movie. in fact, i believe it came out in 2007, and it's 2011 lol. I just couldn't find anyone who'd wanna watch it with me. No one likes chick flicks anymore. It had been so long that once the movie arrived in the mail, i didn't feel to hyped to watch it. i thought it might be a "plain Jane" sort of romantic flick. you know, one of those predictable stories with less than perfect acting and familiar themes. this was far from it.

The story is of a married couple who love each other dearly but with such attitude that is completely different from what we know of as "star crossed lovers". which is in fact exactly what they are. In the movie, Gerard Butler plays as a playful sing songy Irish man who fell for Holly, a visiting collage student from the states who has big dreams. The end up together opposed to their parents who believed they were too young to marry, and in fact "loved each other too much". The beginning of the movie is an argument between the married couple, which, I'm not going to lie, is a bit perplexing, sense it's In Medias Ref. There's a turn of events that i won't spoil. I have to tell you though, Gerard Butler is HARDLY in the movie. The title should have told you already though, that letters are sent to Holly, the main character, ending in P.S. I love you. So you know by now that her husband isn't with her. In the end, Holly becomes emancipated in a way, from what, you'll have to find out for yourself. she begins her new business and begins to write her OWN letter to her husband, always in P.S. I love you.

The characters of the movie are quite charming, especially the memories that there are of Jerry. From his heavy Irish accent to his silly behavior around friends and his loving down to earth frame of mind when it comes to being with his wife. Holly herself is quite frivolous and the movie is centered on how she "finds herself" now that she no longer is able to rely on her husband when tumultuous circumstances arise. She's not as extroverted as her dare devil husband and spends much of her time worrying. Later though, she learns to be self sufficient at 30. Her friends, Denise, Sharon, and John, whom are very supportive given the circumstances, have their own idiosyncrasies about themselves. Denise is the crazy woman, using all her power not to die a spinster while Sharon and John are a married couple who have known the couple for many years. Between the pregnancy and new marriage Holly has to adjust to the usurp in attention and adjust but comes back with a new view on how she ought to tackle her life.
